Michael

This guy knows how to get media’s attention – in 2021, Michael hanged himself in Irving Park as a protest against the city’s closure of the park to overnight sheltering. He lived to see another day after police cut him down, and he landed a TV interview. Five years on, the Saskatchewan boy is still mad as hell at the desperate situation people have been left in. “Tommy Douglas would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what was happening here,” says Michael of the former NDP leader considered the father of medicare. “This is third-world stuff going on.” Michael moved to BC in 2013 to take care of his dying parents. A big, big fan of LSD, he’d like to see acid make a major comeback and “bring some love.”
