Cliff

Cliff Power and his @extreme_outreach team started with 25 Christmas stockings in 1998 for the impoverished residents of the long-gone Holiday Court Motel, where I first met him three years later when I was doing a story on the people living there. He’s up to 3,375 now, and noted yesterday on the Block that probably 5,000 would be a better number given the huge need so evident on city streets. It was both heart-warming and heartbreaking to see how excited people were to get a stocking, and how conscientious they were about making sure that any friends who were too disabled to come to the van got one too.
