You just never know who you might bump into outside a Victoria shelter – like Dawson, one of the founders of the Alberta-based Creep Catchers vigilante network. Lots of controversy around that organization, but Dawson notes that if nothing else, there’s a Wikipedia article with his name in it. Not everybody gets one of those. (He and other Creep Catchers were also featured in a W5 expose in 2017, though not in a flattering light.) Dawson has a place to live but likes to “dabble” on the street, and was pleased to have scored a couple of good pair of shoes from a donation that day.
