James says “something bad” happened to him just before Christmas that put him and his big buddies Phantom and Benz out on the street unexpectedly. It’s not a familiar scene for him, and he’s been posting wildly on social media trying to find housing fast. Finding shelters where his dogs are welcome has been tough. He worries about his dogs being exposed to fentanyl smoke. His own Facebook posts about needing housing with his dogs have brought him many comments about how beautiful the dogs are and do they need any food or beds or blankets, he says, but so far the thing that all three of them most need remains elusive. “I’ve got two healthy dogs. I don’t use drugs. I was working and had a job. I’m not a person living on the street while having dogs, I’m on the street with my two dogs and what we all need the most is a place to live.”
