Five more additions to the seemingly endless death toll from the toxic drug crisis and the perils of a life lived in profound poverty and homelessness here in Victoria. This memorial will remember Amanda Visona, Stephanie Hayhoe, Brianna Brookes, Kyle “Pinky” Bell, and a fifth person, whose family has requested that I withhold his name and photo. They will be remembered today (Feb.19) at 1 pm at the community memorial in the lower hall at St John the Divine. All are welcome. There are already six more names on the list for the March memorial, and another young man on life support in hospital. The monthly memorials are put on by Solid Outreach, the Umbrella Society, Qom Qem and Pacifica Housing, and if you can donate time, food or money, Ashley would love to hear from you at ashley@solid-outreach.org
