Fraser

That’s Fraser’s homemade soup being served up at the @peer2peerindigenouss outreach truck on Pandora these days, something he started after coming home from a memorial with a pile of leftover vegetables and deciding to make soup with it for his volunteer shift on the truck the next day. It went over so well with the crowd that he’s now doing it for every Monday and Wednesday shift (and welcomes donations of any soup ingredients). Fraser is from the Esk’etmc First Nation and says he makes a point to stand up for issues he believes in, including the Land Back movement and Fairy Creek protests. He has never been homeless, but says a “remote experience with opioid addiction” and a lifetime of precarious housing situations makes it all relatable. “And when you see some guy who hasn’t eaten in three days really enjoying a hot meal with protein, that feels good.”
