Rawnice

It’s been a hard day for Rawnice already and it’s not even noon. She woke up hard in a downtown hideout with a security guy shaking her awake, then discovered that her face was swollen and her eye almost shut tight from some kind of allergic reaction. She got to the place where she normally gets breakfast only to learn that the food had run out. With the shower time at the homeless shelter cut back to 10 minutes max and her hair still wet when she puts her dirty clothes back on and goes outside into the cold fall weather, even keeping clean feels impossible. Rawnice has been on the streets for 13 years in Nanaimo and now Victoria, and every year hurts more.
