And today’s community memorial flowers will be brought to you by – Kris at Country Grocery Royal Oak! She has been the floral manager at the Royal Oak store for almost 14 years and began donating flowers every month to the street community memorials after seeing the call-out for flower donations on Street Stories. “This was a no-brainer for me,” says Kris. “If I can do anything to brighten things for the friends and families of the victims – because that’s what they are, victims – I’m on board. Everybody has a story.” Eurosa Farms has also been providing flowers for the monthly memorials, with all flowers going on to bring cheer to the lives of so many people connected to the street community after the events are over, and to freshen up the memorial to lost loved ones at the corner of Quadra and Pandora. Today’s memorial (May 21) is at 1 pm in the lower hall of St John the Divine and will honour the lives of 5 men. The public is welcome but please, no cameras or video in the hall during the event.
